I don't want to give this suspension situation more press than it already has. I will spare you links to other sites where you can read about this more than you already have.
I just want to wish Mr. Daly all the best. Although I have never been a huge Daly fan, I still love to watch him play well. His power, touch, and talent are all so impressive. I will resist the temptation to pour on the unsolicited advice, and wish him well. I have no idea what's going on with him. I don't pretend to.
In the meantime, I suppose the European Tour will gladly accept him, and I hope Mr. Daly can gain some stability and momentum that can help him regain his status as a top player in the game. (As you know his current world ranking has slipped down in to the "700 hundreds club.")
All the best to you Mr. Daly.

Aside from the fact that John Daly once fed his clothes to the lions at the resort that I work at he is indeed a great golfer. Best of luck to him on his journey back to the top.
What i can't seem to figure out is why the PGA TOUR has chosen to target Big John. You've been around the TOUR before Keith, you know a lot of these guys are the cleanest around. I mean, I'm not making a blanket statement for golf professional or tour professionals in any way; however, I think John Daly gets an unfair amount of press. He's been tagged as a drunk troublemaking womanizer but he cares a lot for his children has very infrequently been in trouble with the law. To those people who hate on him, I'd say go root for the Baltimore Ravens this week. Ray Lewis killed a guy, look it up. -MB
"aren't* the cleanest around" I meant
I would love to get some more detail about JD feeding his clothes to the lions. What an awesome youtube that would be!
There are some other characters out there, for sure! I wonder how many guys get suspended for six months and just lay low and say nothing about it. When they come back, they just say they had a bad back or something.
I get the idea the TOUR would have said nothing if JD had said nothing. That said, I respect his desire to explain why he was declining sponsors invites. Sure, he might be using a little passive-aggressive technique to make the TOUR look bad, but he should explain, also.
I just miss him playing well. He was awesome, really. He's won at St. Andrews AND Atlanta Country Club. I don't think you can get two courses more opposite than that but he's won on both!
The funniest thing that you hear when you're in a PGA TOUR locker room? When players openly talk about disliking other players. I've seen guys look at the pairing sheet, roll their eyes, and say "not him! It is going to be long day." Kinda funny.
I once had a player calmly say to me... I think somebody stole my putter from the locker room. Can I take one from the shop? (And you thought only happened at a member guest?) I was familiar with his endorsement situation and offered to call Scotty, but he said, "I'm on the tee in five. I'll call him later." He took a mallet putter and shot, I think, 72.
